Joe Bonamassa is an American blues rock guitarist who has been influenced by the British blues rock artists of the 1960s and 1970s like Eric Clapton and Rory Gallagher.

He’s mainly been a solo artist rather than a member of a group although he did join Glenn Hughes to create Black Country Communion to play 1970s style heavy rock.

From his very first album he’s received success as a blues artist and all have been in the top 10 of the American blues chart. From 2006, his studio albums have gone to #1 of the blues album chart. Gradually he’s achieved more recognition in the general album charts in America, the UK and many other countries.

As well as writing his own songs, he’s played tribute to his influenced and covered plenty of earlier blues and blues rock songs.
