Wikipedia defines prog rock as
“Progressive rock, also known as prog rock or prog, is a rock music subgenre that originated in the United Kingdom with further developments in Germany, Italy, and France, throughout the mid-to-late 1960s and 1970s. It developed from psychedelic rock, and originated, similarly to art rock, as an attempt to give greater artistic weight and credibility to rock music. Bands abandoned the short pop single in favor of instrumentation and compositional techniques more frequently associated with jazz or classical music in an effort to give rock music the same level of musical sophistication and critical respect.”

The Thieving Magpie (La Gazza Ladra) is a live album compilation by prog rock group Marillion.
It pulls together recordings from 1984 to 1987 and the two CD version includes a live performance of Misplaced Childhood from the Hammersmith Odeon in London on the 9th and 10th January 1986.

Recital of the Script is an archive released live album by Marillion.
It was recorded at the Hammersmith Odeon in London on April 18th 1983 on the final night of the tour promoting their debut album, Script for a Jester’s Tear. The album was finally released in 2009.
Make A Jazz Noise Here is a live album by Frank Zappa.
It was recorded on his February to June 1988 world tour and released in 1991. Two other live albums also came from this tour where they covered a vast range of different songs – Broadway the Hard Way with new songs and The Best Band You’ve Never Heard which focused on oldies and covers.
This album, in contrast, concentrates on the more instrumental songs that Zappa has performed. It will therefore appeal to fans of jazz and prog rock who appreciate expert musicianship.

The Belfast Gigs is the second live album by Irish rock band Horslips.
It was recorded on their farewell tour at the Whitla Hall in Belfast on April 29th & 30th and May 1st 1980.
By this stage, the Horslips sound had toughened up to almost Irish hard rock.
Pressure Points: Live In Concert is a live album by English progressive rock group Camel.
It was recorded at the Hammersmith Odeon in London on 11th May 1984 during the tour to promote the Stationary Traveller studio album.
Real To Reel is a live album by prog rock group Marillion.
An extra song, Emerald Lies was added to the CD release. It is often sold with the Brief Encounters part-live EP added to it as a bonus.
Songs 1 to 4 were recorded on 19 & 20 June 1984 at the Montreal Spectrum in Canada while songs 5 to 7 were recorded on 5 March 1984, Leicester De Montfort Hall in England.
There is some confusion as to the source of the three live tracks on the Brief Encounters EP. It says that it was recorded at the Hammersmith Odeon on January 9&10, 1986 but Fish can be heard to say “Leicester Goodnight” at the end of Fugazi. According to Wikipedia, both Fugazi and Script For a Jester’s Tear are likely to come from the same
Leicester concert in 1984 that features on the Real To Reel live album.
Berlin – A Concert for the People is a live album by Barclay James Harvest.
It was recorded on the steps of the Reichstag in West Berlin next to the Berlin Wall on August 30th, 1980 but not released until 1982.

Yes 9012 Live The Solos is a live album by progressive rock group Yes.
It was recorded in Dortmund, Germany in June 1984 and in Edmonton, Canada in September 1984.
It focuses on songs from the studio album 90125 and solos from the individual band members who at this stage were:
Jon Anderson – Lead vocals, Keyboards
Chris Squire – Bass guitar, vocals
Trevor Rabin – guitars, vocals
Tony Kaye – Keyboards, vocals
Alan White – Drums, vocals
An Evening of Yes Music Plus is a live album by Anderson Bruford Wakeman Howe.
At this stage another group with Chris Squires, Trevor Rabin, Tony Kaye and Alan White were performing under the Yes brand name.
It was recorded at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, California on the 9th September 1989. It was released in 1993 and re-released in 2006.
