Elton John One Night Only The Greatest Hits 2000

One Night Only The Greatest Hits is a live album by classic rock star Elton John. It was recorded at two concerts at the Madison Square Garden in New York in October 2000.

I don’t why but I’m irritated by the title One Night Only when there were two nights.

The album also brought out various famous guest stars – Kiki Dee, Ronan Keating, Bryan Adams, Anastacia and Mary J. Blige.

There’s obviously no problem with Kiki Dee singing on Don’t Go Breaking My Heart. We’d rather have her than anyone else. But I’m not sure that the Elton John purists are going to want the others.

It’s not like it’s John Lennon turning up to help sing Lucy In The Sky Of Diamonds is it? (see Here & There)

The Who Live At The Royal Albert Hall 2000

Live At The Royal Albert Hall is a live album by The Who recorded on 27 November 2000.

This is the same version of the band that is so good on Blues To The Bush.

It was a charity gig for the Teenage Cancer Trust and this attracted some big name guest stars… but do you really think they are better singers than Roger Daltrey?

Bruce Springsteen Live In New York City 2000

Live In New York City captures Bruce Springsteen reunited with the E Street Band in 2000. Their first concert together for 11 years.

For me Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band belong together like strawberries and cream. One without the other doesn’t feel right and it’s going to be tough hearing them play again with a replacement for the Big Man (Clarence Clemons).
