My classic rock section consists of albums that are generally successful and don’t belong in one of the more specialised categories. Often groups will start in one category and as they become more successful, they broaden out their sound and become more acceptable to the mainstream and are, therefore, classic rock.

The band recorded shows during their 2005 world tour and selected the best versions of the songs rather than selecting the best overall concert performance.

The commonly available version of David Bowie At The Beeb is a two CD version but there is a limited edition with 3 CDs with a concert from 2000.
This live performance was recorded at BBC Radio Theatre, London on June 27, 2000.
The standard version (CDs 1 & 2) and live in the studio sessions recorded between 1968 and 1972.

It was recorded at the Nokia Theater in Grand Prairie, in their home state of Texas in November of 2007.

Electric Light Orchestra Live is a live album by the Electric Light Orchestra with Jeff Lynne.
It was recorded at CBS Television City in Los Angeles in 2001 at the first show of the Zoom tour.
The album also includes two new, unreleased studio tracks – Out of Luck and Cold Feet. Personally I’d have preferred more of the live recordings as there are plenty of important songs that are missing.

Dexys Midnight Runners At The Royal Court is a live album and DVD.
It was recorded at The Royal Court Theatre in Liverpool on November 7th 2003.
Dexy’s broke up in 1986 and Kevin Rowland tried to develop a solo career. The band reformed in April 2003 and released a greatest hits album with two new songs – Manhood and My Life in England. They toured and this live album is the result.
It wasn’t until 2012 that we finally had another studio album, One Day I’m Going To Soar.
