More videos from Pete Parlo from the Sea of Tranquility website, this time his love of Deep Purple is carried over into Whitesnake.
I’ve blown hot and cold on Whitesnake ever since they were formed. I like Deep Purple Mark 3 and 4 a lot but by the time Coverdale formed his new band in 1978, bluesy hard rock was unfashionable and, whilst they had a few catchy hits over the years, the did go very “hair metal” at one stage.
Pete is much more of a fan and I’ve since learnt that his favourite song ever is by Whitesnake. Continue reading Whitesnake – The Thoughts of Pete Parlo
I’m bringing in some excellent videos from Pete Pardo, from the Sea of Tranquility website about Led Zeppelin.
Sadly we don’t have many live albums from Led Zeppelin, as we’re limited to The Song Remains The Same from the 1970s, the Live At The BBC album and How The West Was Won. We also had their one night only reunion album, Celebration Day.
I definitely feel there is a market for albums from 1975 and 1978.
However their studio albums form the basis of what’s in extended form on their live albums and it’s worth understanding/knowing more about these famous albums. My favourite is Physical Graffiti. Continue reading Led Zeppelin – The Thoughts of Pete Pardo

It’s Too Late To Stop Now Volumes 2, 3 & 4 is a live album by Van Morrison.
This brings us more concert recordings from his 1973 tour that was the source for the original It’s Too Late To Stop Now. The original album picked tracks from:
- The Troubadour, Los Angeles, California,
- Santa Monica Civic Auditorium, Santa Monica, California,
- Rainbow Theatre, London, England.
Volumes 2, 3 and 4 provides previously missing tracks from these venues on the following nights:
- The Troubadour, Los Angeles, May 23, 1973,
- Santa Monica Civic, California, June 29, 1973,
- The Rainbow, London, July 23 & 24, 1973.
There is also the option to buy a version with a DVD of the highlights from the London show at The Rainbow on July 24, 1973.
I’ve been a Van Morrison fan for 40 years and I’ve long recognised that It’s Too Late To Stop Now is a terrific live album but could be criticised for:
- Not being long enough – it is just 92 minutes long which is good but not Springsteen-esque.
- It didn’t feature enough of Van Morrison’s own songs as there were 7 covers and 11 Van Morrison originals.
Volumes 2, 3 and 4 puts an end to those complaints.
