I’m not sure how meaningful this list of best and favourite albums really is although, like all lists, it provides talking points:
- All live albums excluded along with compilation albums and soundtracks
- List selected from the albums most often played on Radio 2, automatically excluding hidden gems
- Only one album per artist allowed so only Sergeant Pepper from The Beatles with Rubber Soul, Revolver, The White Album and Abbey Road all excluded when all could have been in the top 50.
