I like Two Tone and ska so I think it’s worth getting full albums by The Specials, The Beat and Madness but others might prefer a live collection like Live From Planet Ska: The Best Of British Ska Live.
This collects together live performances from The Specials, The Selecter, The Special Beat and Bad Manners but I have two issues:
- Using tracks by Special Beat rather than the (English) Beat knocks down its authenticity.
- The absence of the early Madness songs that helped to popularise Two Tone in the late 1970s.
