Lexicon of Love was one of the few new romantics albums that I liked at the time as there seemed a clear link between them and early 1980s Roxy Music.
It’s easy to imagine ABC as a studio band that relies on trickery to get this lush sound but the live tracks show that there were also very good live in concert.
I approve of the fact that the studio and live versions are combined because I’d be hard pressed to overlook the pop perfection of the studio album.
