Confusingly there are two Ellington albums called Live At The Blue Note, one from 1952 and the other from 1959 Live At The Blue Note.

The 1952 album compiles two radio broadcasts from 1952.

The original vinyl album release was on Aircheck with a CD released by Musidisk. It’s now available as an import on Tokuma.

  • 29th April 1952 at The Armory, Yakima, Washington – tracks 10 to 18 on CD 2 and 1 to 4 on CD 3
  • 30th April 1953 at the McElroy’s Ballroom in Portland, Oregon – tracks 5 to 14 on CD 3
  • And an unknown venue in March 1952 provide tracks 3 to 9 on CD 2
