Live is a live album by Bob Marley & The Wailers recorded at the Lyceum Theatre in London on 18 July and 19 July 1975.
There have been rumours that this classic live album will receive a big make-over with the complete concerts issued. That sounds good because Live is too short!
It is one of the albums that helped him crossover from being a specialised reggae artist to a worldwide star with a much broader rock & pop audience.

This album was recorded before many of Bob Marley’s big hits from Exodus in 1977 onwards which is why you won’t find fans’ favourites like the Is This Love on here. Babylon By Bus is a later live album with more hits.
What we have is a hot, sweaty performance where the studio versions of the songs are used as a base and improvised sections are added in to create unexpected delights.

Authenticity and Atmosphere
Live includes five tracks by The Wailers – Bob Marley, Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer – in Trenchtown Rock, Burnin’ And Lootin’, I Shot The Sheriff, Get Up, Stand Up and Kinky Reggae. I have some sympathy with the idea that we want a live album by The Wailers featuring these songs. Unfortunately the reason why The Wailers broke up in 1974 was because Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer didn’t want to tour extensively.
This is a very good live album but I keep hoping that it will be extended and we’ll get a definitive statement of what Bob Marley was like live.
