Queen With Paul Rodgers Return Of The Champions 2005

Return Of The Champions is a live album and DVD by Queen With Paul Rodgers.

It was recorded at Hallam FM Arena, Sheffield on 9th May 2005.

Queen With Paul Rodgers Return Of The Champions

This was a tour and album that raised lots of difficult questions:

  • Should Brian May and Roger Taylor call themselves Queen?
  • Can anyone stand in the shoes of Freddie Mercury?
  • Should they go for a different style of singer or a soundalike?

Well we know how the pair answered that last question in 2005. They tried a different approach and brought on board one of the greatest rock vocalists who has his own style and could never imitate Freddie.

This controversial album is admired by some as a brave new interpretation of the songs and loathed by others.

Cream Royal Albert Hall London May 2-3-5-6 2005

Superstar 1960s rock group Cream reformed briefly in 2005. Royal Albert Hall London May 2-3-5-6 2005 is a live album with the pick of the songs from these four concerts.

In October 2005 Cream went on to play three concerts at the Madison Square Garden in New York.

Jack Bruce, their bassist and singer died yesterday, 25 October 2014 and I realised that, whilst I’d featured their earlier live albums, Live Cream, Live Cream vol 2 and Wheels Of Fire, the reunion concerts weren’t on here.
