Peter Paul & Mary In Concert 1964

Peter, Paul & Mary In Concert is a live album recorded and originally released in 1964.

This folk band were an early favourite of mine in early childhood because of the song Puff The Magic Dragon. Of course, when I was five years old, I wasn’t looking for secret messages in the lyrics.

Discogs lists a version of this released in France in 1962 but that can’t be right. Bob Dylan didn’t release the song and album The Times They Are A’Changin’ until 1964.

Thelonious Monk Live At The It Club 1964

Live At The It Club is a live album by jazz piano great Thelonious Monk and his band.

It was recorded on October 31 and November 1, 1964 and was finally released in 1982.

In 1998 it was extended to include virtually the complete performance. I’ve read that the tape for one song was flawed.

Playing on this album are:

Thelonious Monk – piano,
Charlie Rouse – tenor sax,
Larry Gales – bass,
Ben Riley – drums.
