Live At The ABC Kingston 1962 is a live album by Cliff Richard and the Shadows.
Because Cliff Richard has gone on (and on and on) for so long, it’s easy to forget what an exciting star he was in his youth.
Or at least it is until you hear a recording like Live At The ABC. Then you understand that Britain did have a genuine rock&roll / pop star before The Beatles.

This is an exciting record which stands up well in terms of recording quality despite the fact that it’s over 50 years old.
However when I listened, I had a problem. I couldn’t shake the image from my mind of an old man trying too long and hard to still be young. While I am sure his most devoted fans remain loyal, to many of us, he’s become a joke.
It’s a terrible shame that tarnishes this very good album.
