Charles Mingus is one of my favourite jazz artists and I’m very interested to see how this poll develop when it has 50 or more voters. I’m biased but I think Cornell 1964 might just be the greatest live jazz album ever released but will readers agree?

Perhaps not because there are many different recordings from the 1964 tour Mingus did with Eric Dolphy and that’s bound to split the votes. They didn’t vary the setlists that much and whilst I accept that each performance is unique I do like to see some variation in songs.
