One of my favourite singer-songwriters that came from the British folk scene in the late 1960s and early 1970s is Richard Thompson.
He’s a perennial critics favourite but, as far as the general public are concerned, he’s an undiscovered master songwriter and guitarist.
That’s a terrible shame because, either on his own or particularly with his former wife Linda, he’s created some great music.
Once upon a time, you could say that he hadn’t released many live albums but that’s no longer true. Some are available through regular sources like Amazon and iTunes while others need to be purchased from his own website at http://richardthompson-music.com/uk-store/
But what is the best live album recorded by Richard Thompson or, perhaps more accurately, what are the few live albums that represent the peak of his long, high quality career as a recording artist?
The only way to find out is with another of my polls.
