Hendrix In The West is a compilation album of live recordings from 1969 and 1970 and was one of the early posthumous releases that would appear under the Jimi Hendrix name.
This originally collected together performances from February 1969 through to August 1970. It has been re-released in a remastered version in 2011 with extra songs and the removal of the two Royal Albert Hall 1969 songs.
The re-released removed Little Wing and Voodoo Chile (Slight Return) from the February 1969 London performance and replaced them with Little Wing from Winterland in October 1968 and Voodoo Chile from San Diego in May 1969.
To some extent this album has been superseded by the release of the individual concerts.

I can understand why people like this album because many will have had it for 40 years but I prefer the purity of a single concert when it’s available so it’s well down on my list of Hendrix live albums that you should hear.
