Television came storming out of the punk & new wave scene at CBGBs in New York with the fantastic studio album Marquee Moon with the duelling guitars of Tom Verlaine and Richard Lloyd.
It was very different from The Ramones.
Follow up studio albums, Adventure (1978) and Television (1992) weren’t as well received but are still worth hearing.

I don’t understand how it happened but I’m classifying Television as both new wave and art rock. It sounds a contradiction but it makes sense to me.

Live At The Venue is a live album by Tom Verlaine.
It was recorded in London on 3rd June 1982.
The live recording has been released as a digital download but it has previously been an important part of the Tom Verlaine compilation, The Miller’s Tale. I didn’t realise originally and bought the digital download as soon as I saw it without checking.
Live At The Academy NYC 12.4.92 is a live album by Television after they reformed to record their third studio album, called Television.
Their 1977 classic, Marquee Moon is one of my favourite studio albums as they created a new wave / art rock sound unlike anyone who had come before and were style extremely, hip with their guitar solos.
Live At The Old Waldorf is a live album by Television recorded at the Old Waldorf, San Francisco on 29th June 1978.
It has been difficult to get because it’s twice been issued as a limited edition release but I bought the mp3 version from Amazon.
The Blow Up is a live album recorded by Television in 1978 with songs from Marquee Moon and Adventure.
