Live Albums By The Pretenders
The Pretenders were formed in England in 1978 and are seen as a new wave band, even if their songs are inspired by bands like The KInks. The lead singer and only permanent member of the band is an American called Chrissie Hynde. She came over to London in 1973 and worked for music paper the NME and for Malcolm McLaren and Vivienne Westwood’s clothes boutique called SEX on the Kings Road in Chelsea.
Lead guitarist and co-writer, James Honeyman-Scott died on 16 June 1982 after taking cocaine and Pete Farndon was fired for drug problems and died in 1983. The first two studio albums can be seen as the original band and the later albums as Chrissie Hynde with a backing band.

It was recorded at Sony Music Studios in New York City on July 6, 1998.
This is not the place to start since I’ve read about quality problems with it.

It was recorded at the Wiltern Theatre, February 2003 on the tour to promote their latest album, Loose Screw.
Live At The Santa Monica Civic, CA, 1981 is a live recording of The Pretenders that is sold as part of the two disc Pretenders II expanded and remastered version.
It was recorded at the Santa Monica Civic Center in Santa Monica, California on September 4, 1981. The Pretenders II album had been released a few weeks earlier in the States on 15 August 1981.
