Yes Something’s Coming The BBC Recordings is a live compilation album by Yes. It is made up of songs recorded by the BBC.
(also called Beyond and Before: BBC Recordings 1969–1970)
This is the early stuff before they developed the sound they are known for from The Yes Album onwards and is played by the original members of Yes.

Woodstock is probably the most famous rock festival ever held.
It happened at Max Yasgur’s farm in the Catskills near Bethel, New York, from August 15 to August 18, 1969 and it featured a who’s who of rock artists.
It was popularised by a movie and a movie soundtrack and that is the album that is being looked at here.
In recent years, a number of live albums have been released featuring teh full sets of groups that appeared at Woodstock.

Velvet Underground with Lou Reed Live 1969 was a live double album that has since been reissued as two separate CDs, part 1 and part 2.
Two new songs were added when this spilt occurred with Heroin added to part 1 and I Can’t Stand It on part 2.
The “cheeky” album sleeve always catches my eye.

The Woodstock Experience by Sly & The Family Stone was recorded in August 1969 at the world famous Woodstock festival.
I don’t understand the marketing but this is a two CD set. The first CD is the studio version of the Stand album, the second is the Woodstock recording. There is a series of these Woodstock albums including Santana, Jefferson Airplane, Janis Joplin and Johnny Winter.
It’s taken us a long time to get a live Sly & The Family Stone album because this was first released in 2009.

Ummagumma is the first Pink Floyd live album recorded in 1969 with early psychedelic space rock classics.
It was a double LP with one LP live and the other recorded in the studio and featuring compositions by the individual members of the group. Only one song, Grantchester Meadows is really worthwhile.
