The Nice Five Bridges 1969

Five Bridges is a live album by The Nice featuring Keith Emerson before he formed Emerson, Lake & Palmer. It also features an orchestra, Sinfonia Of London.

It was mainly recorded at Fairfield Halls in Croydon (UK) on 17 October 1969. Country Pie was recorded live at The Fillmore East in New York in December 1969 and One Of Those People is a studio recording.

The Five Bridges refer to the (then) five bridges that crossed the River Tyne between Newcastle and Gateshead in the North East of England.

If you like Emerson, Lake and Palmer, it’s hard to imagine you not enjoying this album as Keith Emerson builds upon his classic music influences.

I don’t understand why this album isn’t much better known by progressive rock fans.
