Steve Miller Band Live! is a live album by the Steve Miller Band.
It was recorded at the Pine Knob Amphitheater in Detroit on September 25, 1982.
The Steve Miller Band were very popular in the late 1970s and early 1980s with best selling albums including Fly Like An Eagle (1976), Book Of Dreams (1977) and Abracadabra (1982).
Whilst I wasn’t a big fan at the time, hearing these songs takes me back to my days as a teenager and as a university student. It has a strong emotional appeal.

This is a spirited performance from Steve Miller and his band with an excellent sound. The song selection is excellent for what’s there but my biggest problem with it is that it’s far too short. These ten songs add up to just less than 39 minutes and it’s therefore crying out to be extended and re-released.
I think Steve Miller had it in him to create his own Frampton Comes Alive or Live Bullet, a live album that is seen as an essential classic rock album.
