Live In New York City is a live album by John Lennon.
It was recorded at the Madison Square Garden in New York on 30 August 1972.
On that day Lennon and a band performed two shows in aid of charity to help children with “mental challenges”.
It was finally released in February 1986.
John Lennon never toured as a solo artist so this album and the Live Peace In Toronto 1969 are special to fans of The Beatles and especially to those who preferred John.

What do you think about this album?
Do you think it’s the best live album by an ex-Beatle?

At this stage, John Lennon was a singer-songwriter so I’m including the album in that category.

Because there are so many good live albums by singer-songwriters, I have a second division poll where your votes will promote an album.
