Tripping The Live Fantastic Highlights is a live album by Paul McCartney recorded at concerts in 1989 and 1990.
It has simultaneously released in two forms – Tripping The Live Fantastic and the Highlights album.
Having owned them both, I think it’s worth reviewing them separately. As far as I’m concerned, if you Love The Beatles, then this is a must have album.
This is Paul McCartney’s first live album since Wings Over America.

There is the nearest thing we’d ever had to having a live album by The Beatles in the prime doing songs like Hey Jude, Get Back and Let It Be.
it is fantastic to hear live versions of these Beatles songs with McCartney”s vocals and while it’s not John, George and Ringo providing the backing, his band is good.
I quibble about the highlights chosen. How can you miss out on songs as good as The Fool on the Hill and Yesterday from the Beatles and Jet, Band On The Run, Maybe I’m Amazed and Live And Let Die from his early 1970s songs?
While this is the more consistent listen as a CD, if you use an ipod, the full length version is the better option so you can choose your own highlights while avoiding the ordinary songs.
