The CD and DVD versions of Celebration Day will follow on November 19th, 2012.
Led Zeppelin At The O2 Arena London
The reunion concert received rave reviews from those who were lucky enough to attend but how will the 2007 version of Zeppelin stand up in comparison with the 1972 and 1973 versions captured on How The West Was Won and The Song Remains The Same?
We don’t yet know if the entire concert will be released but the original set list was:
Good Times Bad Times
Ramble On
Black Dog (from Led Zeppelin IV)
In My Time of Dying
For Your Life
Trampled Under Foot
Nobody’s Fault But Mine
No Quarter
Since I’ve Been Loving You
Dazed and Confused
Stairway to Heaven (from Led Zeppelin IV)
The Song Remains the Same
I Can’t Quit You Baby
Misty Mountain Hop (from Led Zeppelin IV)
Kashmir
Encores
Whole Lotta Love
Rock and Roll (from Led Zeppelin IV)
Celebration Day by Led Zeppelin
This latest live album by Led Zeppelin of the latest and perhaps last ever gig has been well received on the whole but some people think Jimmy Page is going through the motions.
The big attraction to me of this elderly version of led Zeppelin rather than the white hot early seventies version captured on the other Led Zeppelin live albums is the inclusion of tracks from Physical Graffiti.
Where better to start than with the epic that is Kashmir which Led Zeppelin have mad available on YouTube.
I’m sorry to say that I think it’s a bit scary. Robert Plant, John Paul Jones and Jason Bonham do well but Jimmy Page seems to be a parody of his former self. Perhaps he was getting tired by this stage in the concert or he’s not so keen on the song because the main riff is driven by Jones keyboard rather than his guitar..
What do you think?
I haven’t bought Celebration Day yet and watching this clip has made me delay the purchase.
