At the time when he was in the process of leaving The Beatles, he performed live at the Toronto Rock and Roll Revival festival, a performance that became his first live album.

John Lennon’s final public appearance at a rock concert was when he joined Elton John on stage in 1974 at the Madison Square Garden in New York. He played on three songs and these have been released on the extended version of Here And There.

Live In New York City is a live album by John Lennon.
It was recorded at the Madison Square Garden in New York on 30 August 1972.
On that day Lennon and a band performed two shows in aid of charity to help children with “mental challenges”.
It was finally released in February 1986.
John Lennon never toured as a solo artist so this album and the Live Peace In Toronto 1969 are special to fans of The Beatles and especially to those who preferred John.
Here And There is a live album recorded by Elton John in 1974. It’s very special for having the last public concert appearance by John Lennon who performs on three songs.
“Here” was recorded at the Royal Festival Hall in London in the summer of 1974; “There” was recorded Madison Square Garden, New York on November 28, 1974.
When the live album was first released in 1976 it was the only Elton John album that made any impression on me but it only had nine tracks. It was reissued in 1995 and we have finished up with 25 tracks.
