The Cure with Robert Smith started in the south east of England in 1973 but really developed from 1976 as the culture was swinging towards punk and new wave. They helped pioneer gloomy gothic rock before finding a more commercial sound as indie rock developed in the mid 1980s.
I think it is useful to know the timing of the studio albums to help appreciate the live albums.

Bestival Live 2011 is a live album by The Cure.
It was recorded at the Bestival open-air on the Isle Of Wight in England on September 10, 2011. All profits from the album go to the Isle of Wight Youth Trust.

Paris a live album by The Cure.
It was recorded at Le Zénith de Paris over the three nights, 19th to 21st October 1992 while the band was promoting the Wish studio album.
There is a sister live album called Show that also came from the 1992 tour promoting the studio album Wish.
