They have continued with this policy which is great for people who want a souvenir of the concert they attended but frustrating for those of us who want to hear the best live recordings by The Pixies.

It was recorded on January 18th, 1987 and was broadcast on WERS and pre-dates their first official recording session. It has been released on the Echoes label.

Hollywood Holidays is a live in concert recording of The Pixies.
It was recorded for a KCRW-FM radio broadcast in 1991 and catches the band promoting the Trompe Le Monde studio album. It was recorded at The Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles on 22nd December 1991 with the exception of tracks 19 to 21 which came from the concert held on the previous day.
I’ve seen it released by the Smokin’ label as an mp3 and Let Them Eat Vinyl as a vinyl album.

The Pixies Live At Vredenburg is a live bonus CD that was included with a number limited of the Death To The Pixies compilation album.
It was recorded at Vredenburg in Utrecht, Netherlands on 25th September 1990.
Sadly we are very short of authorised recordings of The Pixies live in concert from their original time together. Since their reunion in 2004, they have offered limited edition recordings of their individual concerts.
The Pixies have released a 4 track downloadable live EP from their Coachella 2004 which marked the return of The Pixies as a live act.
