Philentropy is a live album by John Martyn.

It was recorded at three concerts:

  • “Hung Up” & “Don’t Want To Know” were recorded live at the Apollo Theatre, Oxford in the autumn of 1982;
  • “Johnnie Too Bad” & “Make No Mistake” were recorded live at the Dome,Brighton again in the autumn 1982.
  • “Sunday’s Child”, “Lookin’ On”, “Root Love” & “Smiling Stranger” were recorded in London during spring 1983.
