Wikipedia defines blues rock as follows:
“Blues rock is a musical genre combining bluesy improvisations, commonly over the twelve-bar blues, with rock styles. The core of the blues rock sound is usually created by the electric guitar, piano, bass guitar and drum kit, with the electric guitar often amplified…The style began to develop in the mid-1960s in Britain and the United States. British bands, such as John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers, the Rolling Stones, the Yardbirds and the Animals and American bands such as the Butterfield Blues Band and the Siegel–Schwall Band, experimented with music from older African-American bluesmen…”
Out of John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers came Eric Clapton, Peter Green and Mick Taylor while the Yardbirds helped to develop Clapton, Jimmy Page and Jeff Beck.

Live is the first official live album by George Thorogood and the Destroyers.
It was recorded at the Cincinnati Gardens in Ohio on 23 May, 1986.
A 2010 archive release of Live In Boston 1982 means that this is no longer the earliest example of Thorogood live.
It is however the best known and most successful as it has been awarded platinum disc status for album sales in the USA.
Live In Boston 1982 is a live album by George Thorogood and the Destroyers.
It was recorded at the Bradford Ballroom in 1982 but wasn’t released until 2010.
I don’t have a recording date but the fact that Bad To The Bone, their first single from 1982 is not on the recording, it suggests that it was before August. Since Nobody But Me, New Boogie Chillun, Miss LuAnn and As the Years Go Passing By were on the Bad To The Bone album it was probably close to the time of recording.
Merseytrout Live In Liverpool is a live album by Captain Beefheart and the Magic Band.
It was recorded live at Rotters Club in Liverpool, England on October 29, 1980. It was finally released in 2000.

Live In The Heart Of The City is a live album by Whitesnake.
It was recorded at the Hammersmith Odeon in London on the 23 June 1980 (songs 1 to to 9) at the Hammersmith Odeon on 23 November 1978 (songs 10 to 15). The 1978 songs had previously been issued as Live In Hammersmith but only in Japan. The album was released in November 1980.
