Rory Gallagher was a great blues guitarist who put in some terrific live performances and his live albums are more authentic than his studio albums.
He started with Taste and then went on to record and tour under his own name.
Rory Gallagher died on June 14, 1995.

The studio songs were recorded at His Master’s Wheels in San Francisco. The live tracks were recorded at The Old Waldorf in San Francisco in December 1979.

Rory Gallagher Live At Montreux is a live compilation album and DVD By Rory Gallagher.
The CD has been compiled from his recordings at famous annual festival in Switzerland in 1975, 1977, 1979 and 1985.
The DVD includes more songs and also a performance from 1994 and some of his acoustic blues recordings.

Meeting With the G-Man: Live at Paradiso, Amsterdam is a live album by Rory Gallagher.
It was recorded in Holland on December 20, 1993.
Gallagher was a terrific performer live in concert and I think his best live albums are much more compelling than his studio recordings.
The latest version of this album has six extra live tracks.

There are some early live recordings of Rory Gallagher with his band, Taste including his performance at the Isle Of Wight Festival in 1970 when, some say, he blew Jimi Hendrix off the stage and Live Taste in the same year..
In the early seventies after branching out on his own, he continued playing blues rock and recorded two highly acclaimed live albums, Rory Gallagher Live In Europe and Irish Tour.
He then changed direction and reduced the blues and emphasised the rock side of his performances and recorded Stagestruck.
Live Taste is the first live album from Rory Gallagher and Taste. It was recorded at the Montreux Casino in Switzerland in 1970 before it was burnt down and immortalised in the Deep Purple song, Smoke On The Water.
There is considerable crossover between the set lists on Live Taste and Taste Live At The Isle Of Wight also recorded in 1970.
Stage Struck is Rory Gallagher‘s third live album and presents a heavier, hard rock approach to his guitar style recorded in 1979.
The blues had been the emphasis of Live In Europe and Irish Tour.
