The Concert is the second live album released by Creedence Clearwater Revival. It is a recording of a single concert at the Oakland Coliseum in California on January 31, 1970.
Unlike the previously released but later recorded Live In Europe, The Concert features the four piece group.

The problem with this album is that Creedence Clearwater Revival never cut loose and improvise or play with the songs. Instead they closely perform the versions recorded in the studio.
The Concert vs A Creedence Clearwater Revival Compilation vs The Original Albums
Neither of the Creedence Clearwater Revival live albums work very well which is unfortunate.
CCR also have on the very best compilations in Chronicle. They proved to be a singles band and the songs come together very well with plenty of variety and originality.
The 1969 and 1970 studio albums have a very good reputation – Bayou Country, Green River, Willy and the Poor Boys, and finally Cosmo’s Factory – and it’s amazing that the group produced so much good music in such a short space of time.
Chronicle is the way that I’d go. I think most rock fans need some Creedence Clearwater Revival but I’m not convinced they need a lot unless the band’s swamp rock particularly appeals.
