It’s not the set list I’d want for a Bowie concert with so many songs from albums that were outside his 70s peak. Six songs from Reality, five from Heathen, two from Outside, two from Earthling and one from Tonight as well as various classics from the 1970s albums. It also includes a cover of an Iggy Pop song from The Idiot that Bowie wrote.

The iTunes download includes two extra songs:

  1. 5:15 The Angels Have Gone (from Heathen)
  2. Days (from Reality)

While this can’t be considered as a replacement for his classic live albums from the 1970s, it is a fascinating summary of his later career. The newer songs hold up well.

I overlooked this album for too long in the belief that Bowie had lost his magic touch and that I didn’t need another Bowie live album.
