Muddy Mississippi Waters Live is a live album by Muddy Waters.

The songs were recorded in 1977 and 1978 when Muddy Waters was going through a revival in his career thanks to the Hard Again studio album for Johnny Winter’s Blue Sky label. In 1978, Waters released the I’m Ready studio album.

It was originally issued as a seven track single album in 1979 which was then issued as a CD in 1991. In 2003, a second CD was added to create the Legacy Edition while the shorter album also stayed in print.

Their studio debut album, Cut wasn’t released until September 1979 so this live recording captures the band more than eighteen months earlier in their development.

Live Coast To Coast is a live album by Teddy Pendergrass, originally the lead singer for  Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes.

It collects together live recordings from three sources:

  • Tracks 1-1 to 1-6 were recorded at the Philadelphia College of Performing Arts, Shubert Theater in Philadelphia on August 10th, August 11th and August 12th, 1978.
  • Tracks 2-1 to 2-5 were recorded live at The Greek Theater in Los Angeleson September 6th and September 8th, 1979.
  • Tracks 2-6 to 2-12 were recorded at the Sigma Sound Studios in Philadelphia for WDAS-FM.

His terrible road accident in 1982 left him paralyzed from the chest down.

It was recorded in 1978 but was only released in 2014 before the reformed Tyla Gang toured Europe in October and November 2014.

Band leader Sean Tyla used to be a member of Ducks Deluxe and therefore I have to admit a bias in favour of the band.

It was recorded at the WDR Studio L in Cologne on 21 February 1978. At this stage, Dury was still promoting the New Boots and Panties album, which had been released on 30 September 1977. This studio album had sold very well in the UK, peaking at #5 in the album charts and earning a platinum disk.
