Live Albums By AC/DC
AC/DC are a long lasting Australian hard rock group that started in 1973 and has always featured the brothers Malcolm and Angus Young on rhythm guitar and lead guitar respectively.
Lead singer Bon Scott died in February 1980 and was replaced by Brian Johnson (the former singer of Geordie) who has stayed with them ever since.
This creates a natural split in how you look at the 10cc studio and live albums – those with Bon Scott and those with Brian Johnson.

Paradise Theatre Boston 1978 is a recording of AC/DC performing live in concert.
It was recorded in Boston on 21 August 1978 and was broadcast on the WBCN radio station. It has been released on the Zip City label. The same concert has also been issued on the Doxy label.

Cleveland Rocks is a recording of AC/DC performing live in concert.
It was recorded at the Agora Ballroom in Cleveland on 22 August 1977 while the band were supporting Mink DeVille. It was broadcast on local radio and has been released on the Good Ship Funke label.

1979 – Let There Be Rock The Movie – Live in Paris
A motion picture of this concert, called AC/DC: Let There Be Rock was released on video in 1980, and finally on DVD on 7 June 2011.
The CD version is also included in the Bonfire boxset.

What is the best AC/DC live album? If You Want Blood gets plenty of praise but is it the live recording that fans think is best?
For a band with such a great reputation and with the loss of their lead singer, Bon Scott when they were hitting their heights, there are surprisingly few live albums.
If You Want Blood You’ve Got It gets lots of praise from the critics but it was recorded in April 1978 and therefore misses content from studio albums such as Highway To Hell (with Scott), and Back in Black and For Those About To Rock.

2009 Live At River Plate
AC/DC have announced the release of their first live album for 20 years.
It’s called AC/DC Live At River Plate and it was recorded in Buenos Aires, Argentina in December 2009 and it was launched on November 19th, 2012.
There is also a DVD of the concert available.
Live is the second album by AC/DC and the first with singer Brian Johnson. It was recorded in 1990 and 1991 – a long time after the classic If You Want Blood You’ve Got It.
After the death of singer Bon Scott, AC/DC recruited ex-Geordie singer Brain Johnson and went on to global popularity with albums like Back In Black and Those About To Rock We Salute You.
What a boring title after their first live album.
