Ted Nugent Live at Hammersmith ’79

Ted Nugent Live at Hammersmith ’79 is a recording made for King Biscuit Flower Hour of a 1979 Ted Nugent concert in London.

While the album wasn’t released until 1997, the recording positions it between Nugent’s first and second live albums, Double Live Gonzo and Intensities In 10 Cities.

This is one of the early gigs with Charlie Huhn as the new lead singer replacing Derek St. Holmes who was with Ted Nugent during his peak years in the late seventies.

Ted Nugent Intensities In 10 Cities 1980

Intensities in 10 Cities is a second live album by Ted Nugent after the big success of Double Live Gonzo.

What’s unusual about this album is that the songs featured don’t appear on any earlier Ted Nugent or Amboy Dukes albums.

The story is that Nugent was testing new songs out live and played about 20 on the 1980 tour and picked out the 10 that were best received. I’m sure that his shows had plenty of the fan’s favourites included as well.

Ted Nugent had been lead guitarist for the The Amboy Dukes before becoming the star attraction in that group and then going solo.

His first studio albums – Ted Nugent, Free For All and Cat Scratch Fever – were popular with heavy metal fans.
