Double Trouble is a double album by Gillan, the band formed by Ian Gillan when he returned to hard rock. It has also been sold as single albums, split into volume 1 and volume 2.
The first album was recorded in the studio and the original second album was mainly recorded live in concert at the Reading Festival in 1980.
The live CD has since been supplemented by five bonus songs from a concert at the Rainbow Theatre on 4 March 1981 and Reading Festival on 29 August 1981.

When I have studio and live in concert CDs I will usually separate them on my ipod because the sound is different and I mainly want to listen to the live recordings.
If you like the mark II Deep Purple and you’d like to investigate Ian Gillan’s solo career, then this is an excellent place to start. Alternatively you could go for Live Triple Trouble which has the full sets for the Rainbow Theatre concert on 4th March 1981 and the Reading Festival performance on 29 August 1981 together with BBC Radio 1 Friday Rock Show recordings from April 1982 and five songs from a March 1981 concert in Nottingham.
