Bad Company Live In Concert 1977 & 1979

Live In Concert 1977 & 1979 is a live album by Bad Company.

It captures two concerts, two years apart:

  • CD 1 was recorded at The Summit, Houston, Texas on 23rd May 1977.
  • CD was recorded at The Empire Pool, Wembley, London – 9th March 1979.
  • one song, Hey Joe, comes from the show in Washington, DC.on June 26, 1979.

For some strange reason, it has taken nearly 40 years for Bad Company to release an official live album from their 1970s prime time. Mick Ralphs released Live In Albuquerque which captured a 1976 concert but other members of the band complained and it was immediately withdrawn.

Sadly I’d argue that the band was by this time in decline, peaking with their first  two studio albums.

What is The Best Free, Bad Company & Paul Rodgers Live Album?

Some groups appear, are creative for a relatively short period and then stagger on as a form of tribute act to past glories.

Other groups have their moment in the spotlight and then disappear for ever.

Free are one of those who could never reform, at least with all their originally members following the death of Paul Kossof. Continue reading What is The Best Free, Bad Company & Paul Rodgers Live Album?

Bad Company What You Hear Is What You Get 1992

What You Hear is What You Get (contentiously subtitled the Best of Bad Company live) is a live album by Bad Company recorded in 1992 in California. Brian Howe is the lead singer and not Paul Rodgers.

This album very much revives the debate about when a group stops being the group promised by its brand name. For me, Bad Company has to include Paul Rodgers.

Bad Company Live in Albuquerque 1976

Live in Albuquerque is a live album by Bad Company of a concert in March 1976 which was withdrawn shortly after its release in 2006. They were promoting their third album,  Run With The Pack.

This is a shame because classic rock lovers and in particular Bad Company fans need a live album of the group in their prime.
