My classic rock section consists of albums that are generally successful and don’t belong in one of the more specialised categories. Often groups will start in one category and as they become more successful, they broaden out their sound and become classic rock.

The Kids Are Alright is a film and live soundtrack album by The Who. The recordings range from July 1965 through to May 1978.
When it was released back in 1979, fans were extremely grateful to have more live recordings from the band. Incredibly we only had the original six track Live At Leeds. Since then many more live recordings have been released including other compilations.

The Kinks At The BBC is a limited edition box set of BBC recordings by The Kinks.
It features 5 CDs and 1 DVD and tells story of thirty years from 1964 to 1994. If you think this is too much – in quantity or cost – there is a two CD version again called The Kinks At The BBC.

The Kinks At The BBC is a two CD set that compiles the best of the in studio and in concert live recordings made of The Kinks by the BBC

Live At The Fillmore is a live recording of The Move.
It was recorded at the Fillmore West in San Francisco in 1969.
The Beatles Live At The BBC is a double CD compilation of live in the studio songs performed by The Beatles for the BBC between 1962 and 1965.
Live At The Star-Club is an early recording of The Beatles performing live in December 1962.
The recording quality is poor but this is a fascinating piece of pop and rock music history.
The Doors In Concert is a compilation album of The Doors live in concert between 1968 and 1970 and includes their first live album, Absolutely Live together with Alive She Cried and some extras.
In the UK it is also known as American Nights.

Wheels of Fire is a double album by Cream with one LP recorded in the studio and the other capturing the live Cream experience in March 1968 in California.
Cream were a very different band live compared to the studio as it gave the great instrumentalists – Eric Clapton, Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker – a chance to stretch out and show off their talents.
