Supertramp are responsible for two of my very favourite studio albums – Crime Of The Century and Crisis? What Crisis? I think Even In The Quietest Moments is a slight dip in form and my initial thoughts were that the band sold out in the name of commercial success with Breakfast In America. That said, the songs from these later two albums hold up well and the switch from one album’s material to another never jars.
This is an excellent live album made even better with the extra songs. If you love 1970s rock, I think this is essential even though no one else sounded like Supertramp.
I’ve decided to make it my joint highest scoring live album with 29 out of 30. That’s 10 for the set list which is superb, 9 for performance which is excellent but I wish they’d taken the opportunity to change the songs a bit more. Finally another 10 for sound quality, atmosphere and authenticity. This was the perfect time to record a live album for the band.
