Supertramp Live Tracks With Breakfast In America Deluxe 1979

The Deluxe Edition of Breakfast In America by Supertramp has a second CD of live tracks from 1979.

Their live album Paris was recorded in 1979 but it excluded six songs from the concert which are included in this bonus CD together with other live recorded tracks from 1979. These six tracks are included on the CD/DVD combination Live In Paris ’79 but for those of us who have bought Paris, it is a great chance to get the missing songs.

Supertramp Is Everybody Listening? 1975

Is Everybody Listening is an archive released live album by Supertramp.

There is disagreement about where and when it was recorded.

According to the sleeves notes, it was recorded in Cleveland, Ohio, USA in 1976 but John Helliwell’s website says that it was recorded on March 9th, 1975 at the Hammersmith Odeon in London.

The gig was a last minute add-on to the end of the tour and has become famous or rather perhaps infamous as an illegal bootleg beloved amongst Supertramp fans. It was also briefly commercially released in 2001 as “Is Everybody Listening”. For some bizarre reason the original bootleg erroneously gave the venue for this show as Cleveland, Ohio rather than London, England, a mistake which the 2001 commercial release unfortunately replicated on its own cover notes. ” http://www.johnhelliwell.com/bio2013.php

The 1975 concert at the Hammersmith Odeon has been included in the Deluxe edition of the remastered Crime Of The Century.

Supertramp Paris 1979

Paris is the first live album released by Supertramp. It was recorded in November 1979 in Paris on the tour to promote their mainstream breakthrough album Breakfast In America.

I remember seeing Supertramp on the Even In The Quietest Moments tour in 1976. I don’t know why but I can remember feeling the bass continually thudding into my chest, something that even Black Sabbath didn’t manage to achieve. Of course, with Sabbath I may have been too worried about protecting my hearing to notice.

Supertramp have never fitted into my definition of progressive rock so I’m treating them as an art rock group.

A combined DVD/CD release called Live In Paris ’79 has the missing six songs from the original concert and is therefore a more sensible purchase.
